Buink is the development company I started after I graduated from BYU. I designed the site from the ground up. You’ll find a portfolio page of other websites that I designed or developed. Definitely check that out because I have several projects there that I haven’t listed on this website.

In addition to the front-end, I also designed a backend business system for Buink. That was some of my first exposure to PHP and MySQL.

MyNiceTie Founder

MyNiceTie started after a friend gave me $7,000 so I could fly to Korea and buy 1,000 ties. I ended up getting them for half off and bought 2,000. I landed several wholesaling partnerships and built a website.

I learned a ton about digital marketing and designed a marketing strategy that has resulted in 18 million YouTube views. The strategy also includes helping people through micro-finance. MyNiceTie loans 20% of all necktie sales to struggling people all over the world. As of 2013, it has helped 380 entrepreneurs in 38 countries.

Analyst And Planner

I worked in the Kids Athletics Department on a team which achieved over $236 million in sales from the time I started till I was promoted. I helped drive $93 million of that revenue and was directly responsible for allocating $88 million dollars of inventory to minimize markdowns and maximize sales.

I was quickly promoted to a planner where I worked closely with the buyers to help choose shoe assortments for 3 quarters and was responsible giving feedback on shoes, buying the right quantities, choosing the best store distributions, and projecting sales to maximize our inventory dollars. During my time in International I shared direct responsibility for 30 million in sales which exceeded our sales plan.

Other Previous Projects

I’ve done several projects that aren’t listed on this website. They include a couple sites built in Magento, a couple built in Drupal, one built in dream weaver, and a couple more in strait HTML and CSS.

I also did the design for all those sites and a couple logos as well. I wouldn’t say I’m the best designer, but I think clients leveraged my design skills because I had a very low rate at the time.
