Coloring In The Lines

2/27/15

If we are connected on LinkedIn, I NEED YOUR HELP!

Since childhood, I have perfected the art of keeping my crayons inside the given lines. This is not an easy thing, particularly when you have a lot of space to fill with color. After years of practice, I ask that you’ll help me get the recognition I deserve in the form of a LinkedIn endorsement.

I’ve made it easy, just navigate to my profile, scroll down to the Skills section, and find the skill “Coloring In The Lines.”

You may think being endorsed for this skill is not a big deal. You are dead wrong, unfortunately I have no supporting evidence to uphold this claim.

I understand that some of you may not have first hand experience with my ability to color in the lines. I would not want you to blindly endorse; therefore, I offer you the image above (only photoshopped a little). As you can see, there are almost no crayon lines that cross another line. I’ll be the first to admit it is not perfect, but even the best of crayon wielders make similar mistakes with such an imprecise instrument.

Hopefully I’ve satisfied all your concerns and you’re not even taking the time to finish reading this post before supporting this worthy cause.

If you need more convincing, I’m afraid I have none.

For those of you who do not enjoy the connection with me on LinkedIn, forgive me and correct this heinous oversight here. Then, if you deem my coloring in the lines to be sufficiently skilled, will you please add your endorsement?

UPDATE (2015.03.09)

This post turned out to be a little controversial. No, I’m not trying to make fun of people who ask for LinkedIn skill endorsements, although I may be making fun of the skill endorsements themselves.

I’ve noticed that the skills I get endorsed for the most are not necessarily the ones I’m good at. Let’s take entrepreneurship for example. Everyone in my network says that this is my best skill, but I’ve never actually succeeded in building a business that I can work on full-time. In fact, I’ve failed at doing it 3 times and am now on my fourth attempt.

The truth is, I did this post is because of my random sense of humor. It makes me laugh every time I read it. Imagine you saw my profile for the first time and noticed “coloring in the lines” amid all my other skills. Or, imagine LinkedIn is asking you about your contact’s skills and then asks you if I’m really good at “coloring in the lines.” That’s just funny (maybe only to me). 🙂

So, here is to the random humor of life.

I reached out to Buink after finding Ben’s name in a local developer/consultant listing in 2017, and I have to say, it has been an absolute pleasure to work with Buink. Ben consistently understands not just the development task laid in front of him but the business application behind the task. I’ve... never felt more comfortable with a development team than I do with Buink. I truly feel Ben and his team are integral partners in the success of my business.read more

I could not recommend Buink Web Development more highly. Ben and his team have recently developed a budgeting app for me (both web and IOS). I have had the opportunity of working with them for over a year and I am extremely happy with the results.I would say that the biggest plus for me is that I... trust Ben completely. From the very first, Ben has helped me make decisions that were in the best interest of my company. I have never felt like he is taking advantage of me. Ben does his best to keep the whole process very open and upfront. I have really appreciated that.I tell people all the time that I love my developers. And I do. I'm very happy that I chose to use Buink to develop my apps. It was the best business decision I could have made.If you are looking for someone to develop a website or app, I strongly suggest choosing Buink Web Development. They are fantastic!Marilyn Ference, President, Defend Your Money, LLCread more
